Budget Experience - Magic the Gathering - Part 4

Well, I gave out 2 of my 3 decks. Those decks I decided to build and play around with, so here's the results:
  • Blue/Green Infect Deck: It went well when I started playing it, but it lost some consistency when I kept on modifying it. It still needs work, but I hope it'll get better.
  • Red/White Artifact Burn Deck: It went extremely well, despite it being slow. Once, it gets going, if I take huge hits, I'll still be able to bounce back.
The last post will be the Black/White Token Spam Deck that I haven't been able to complete.

Budget Experience - Magic the Gathering - Part 1

Before I knew it, I decided to play Magic, because I thought it would be entertaining. What I decided to do is this:
  1. Buy 2 Structure Decks and make them into a deck.
  2. Use whatever cards that I got from those decks and made them into a deck.
  3. If I get lucky, I get lucky, and put those cards into the deck as well.
As for pulls, out of one of these packs that I got from the Structure Deck that they had, I did pull a Planeswalker out of that pack, which made me quite amused. Next post(s) will be some decks I decided to play with casually.

Here are some sample names I came up with for these decks:
  1. Black/White Token Spam Deck
  2. Blue/Green Infect Deck
  3. Red/White Artifact Burn Deck.
Thoughts and comments. Enjoy!

Experience

In relation to last post, I decided to get some experience in a different card game in real life, before I decide to finish up. Currently, through efforts, I decided to take up a new card game: Magic the Gathering, and for a brief period, I was playing it casually with friends. What I did to start off with is to make a deck out of 2 Intro Structure Decks and some random commons I get.

For the remainder of this month, instead of the current Cardfight!! Vanguard plan, I decided to give you guys some time to vote on the poll about budget beats, and work on posts about my Magic experience.

Sorry that I've been doing short posts, but I needed to finish some things in real life.

What I've decided...(short post)

...is to open up a poll to see what you guys think about how to set up the Budget side of Cardfight!! Vanguard, so I'm considering doing one of the following:
  1. For budget purposes, I would only do 2 Structure Decks, and build a deck based around those cards.
  2. Same thing as #1, but invest on however many structure decks you want.
  3. For budget purposes, I would only work on the Half-Deck builds, and calculate how much money is needed to finish the deck.
Anyway, I will open up the poll, and leave it open until the middle of next month.

Updates (short post)

It has come across my attention that I need to shake the discussions a bit more than usual, so I may have to adjust the calender for the future months, that I do an alternating card game rotation, instead of dedicating each month to a sole topic.

Originally, I did the first 3 months of YGO, because I did 3 months or so on Cardfight!! Vanguard, but now, I need to see how this plays out.

Anyway, I'm going to continue with this month being solely on Cardfight!! Vanguard, but next month or so, I may change it to a different pattern.

Cardfight!! Vanguard - Strategies - Dragonic Overlord Trial Deck

Picking out a Grade 0 Vanguard:
For this trial deck, you would pick Lizard Soldier Undeux.

Basic Strategies:
For this build, the main Vanguard unit that you should consider using are Dragonic Overlord and Dragon Monk, Goku.
  • For Dragonic Overlord, you can Counterblast 3 as Vanguard, and hope to drive check 3 times into some critical triggers, and hopefully, they would be unsuccessful to block the onslaught, but that's highly unlikely.
  • For Dragon Monk, Goku, you can Drive Check a Grade 3, and retire one of your opponent's Rear Guards.
Triggers:
There's 4 Critical Triggers, 4 Stand Triggers, 4 Draw Triggers, and 4 Heal Triggers.

Guarding:
  • 12 Grade 0 Shields

Cardfight!! Vanguard - Strategies - Blaster Blade Trial Deck

Picking out a Grade 0 Vanguard:
For this Trial Deck, the starting Vanguard would be Stardust Trumpeter.

Basic Strategies:
For this deck, the main objective would be to get Crimson Butterfly Brigitte in the Vanguard Circle. By using Crimson Butterfly Brigitte's ability, you can utilize the Drive Checks, and if you get a Grade 3, you'll get 5000 power boost.

An alternate strategy is to have Blaster Blade in the Vanguard Circle along with Solitary Knight, Gancelot in the Vanguard Circle, because when you Counterblast 2 with Solitary Knight, Gancelot, you can give your Vanguard a 5000 boost and an extra Critical.

Triggers:
For this deck, there's 4 Critical Triggers, 4 Stand Triggers, 4 Draw Triggers, and 4 Heal Triggers.
 Guarding:
  • 12 Grade 0 Shields (10000)
  • 4 Draw Triggers
  • 13 Grade 1 Shields (5000)
  • 10 Grade 2 Shields/Interceptors (5000)
Trial Deck List:

Grade 0:
4x Transporter of Good Luck, Epona
4x Flogal
4x Weapons Dealer Govanon
4x Yggdrasil Maiden, Elaine
Stardust Trumpeter

Grade 1:

Cardfight!! Vanguard Single Card Discussion - Circular Saw, Kiriel

Circular Saw, Kiriel
Grade: 3    Clan: Angel Feather
Angel/United Sanctuary
Twin Drive!! When this Unit Drive Checks, Drive Check twice.
Auto (V): (Limit Break (4)) When this Unit attacks the Vanguard, it gains +5000 Power during this Battle.
Auto: (Counter Blast (1)) When this Unit appears in the Vanguard Circle, you can pay the cost. If you do, target 1 face-up <<Angel Feather>> in your Damage Zone, call it to your Rearguard, then take the top card of your Deck, and place it in the Damage Zone face-down.
Power: 10000     Critical: 1

First ability, you need at least 4 damage in your Damage Zone to activate it; however, it'll be able to go over another 5000 Shield. Second ability, you need to Counterblast 1 and this is when you call this to the Vanguard Circle, you can call a unit that is in your Damage Zone to a Rear Guard Circle, and then replace that card with the top card of your Deck, face-down.

Overall, it's an interesting ability; however, this is the first card from the Angel Feather series of many to look forward to in Set 6.

Cardfight!! Vanguard - Limit Break

This'll be brief, but here's a new concept I heard about, while some cards for Set 6 came out:

Limit Break: If you have number of damage in your Damage Zone, you can activate this ability. For example, if you have a Limit Break(4), you need 4 damage in your Damage Zone.

Sorry for it being brief, but it's a new concept you need to know for Set 6. Some examples will be posted in later posts.

For this month...

I will have posts containing information about Cardfight!! Vanguard; however, so people do not get confused, I will list the topics I intend to cover within this month:
  1. Trial Deck Discussion: Someone asked me if I'll be doing a Strategy Guide on the Cardfight!! Vanguard Trial Decks.
  2. Half Deck Discussion: Then, after Trial Deck Discussion, when I'm done with all Trial Decks, I'll move on to the Half Deck Discussion and all factors needed to use a Half Deck.
  3. Cardfight Capital Tutorial: I'll be considering to update this, maybe in this month, or June, depending on how much I want to cover in this month.
  4. Card Discussion and tips to use said card: As for the remainder of this month, I'll be doing Single Card Discussion and Strategies to help new players understand why this card works the way that it does.
  5. BT-06: If I find out information about this set, I'll let you guys know immediately.
If there's any topics I missed, let me know. (Cardfight!! Vanguard related)
